The MP43 assault rifle shown here was located in a Polish marsh. It is a rare example of the MP43/1 which had rails incorporated into the rear sight in order for a sniper scope to be added. The weapon was been cleaned but the original woodwork retained. When found there was no 32 round magazine present.
Above are right and left side views of the weapon. Clearly showing the good condition it was in once cleaned as well as illustrating the stamped press manufacturing that made this such a frontier breaking piece of design.
Above: Clearly visible is the runner made to fit the scope onto the weapon.

Close up of the business end of an MP43/1. The rubber muzzle cover (see top picture), has been removed. The top of the fore sight is very different to the later ones found on the MP44.
